Nutrition and Dietetics
The Department of Clinical nutrition and Dietetics is an integral part of our hospital because they provide the much needed nutritional support to all our in-patients and outpatients. With careful diet planning and food services, it plays a supportive role in the holistic treatment of every patient. The Dietitians at Mar Sleeva Medicity Palai provide medical nutrition therapy according to the disease process. They also provide individual dietary consultation to patients, family members and group education to the patient population and public.
The Department works with Physicians, Physiotherapists, Social workers and Nurses to provide quality care to each patient. The mission of the Dietary Department is to provide high quality food and nutrition by meeting the needs and expectations of the patients. Also, the various Speciality Nutrition Clinics available at the Department offer customized, guideline-based diet advice for patients after conducting a detailed assessment of their current physical/ medical condition, nutritional requirements and expected recovery time.
Mar Sleeva Medicity Palai offers a Life Style Disease Clinic to identify and eliminate the causes contributing to various lifestyle diseases. Moreover, the clinic also offers personalized health diet plans that prevent many disorders like CVDs, COPD, Cancer, Asthma, Disease of digestive system, Genitourinary condition, Neuropsychiatric disorders through efficient control of intake of salt, sugar, fat and minerals.
