RUTU SURAKSHA 2024 – is a monsoon seasonal regimen that is being
conducted by the Ayurveda department of Mar Sleeva Medicity Palai. This traditional
Ayurveda regimen has originated in Kerala since time immemorial and has
thus become an integral part of the Kerala culture every monsoon season. It is
a specialized form of regimen that uses a combination of external treatment
procedures like massages, herbal medicines, dietetics and other techniques. It
is understood that the monsoon season causes a disharmony in the body dynamics
and thus the Karikadaka Chikitsa regimen restores the equilibrium. This is
the season where there is an upsurge in different types of fevers and other
infections in all living beings and the environment alike. It is believed
that the health restored during this season shall be maintained for all most a
year until the next monsoon. This regimen is said to be beneficial for both the
healthy and the sick as it mainly causes the body to be flushed out of harmful
chemicals and toxins that is responsible for disease. And thereafter the body
is replenished with beneficial attributes through therapeutics in a holistic
fashion. 

The packages offered involves treatments like Kizhi, Utsadanam, Dhoomam,
Panchakarma Chikitsa like Vamana, Virecahna, Vasti and Rakta Moksha. The treatments
can be obtained on OP & IP basis. In addition to the Ayurveda external
treatments, counselling is given regarding food habits, lifestyle modifications
etc. In-patients are additionally advised physical routines, breathing
exercises and other techniques in order to cater to a holistic well-being of
the body, mind and soul.
