Walkathon 2026 | World Cancer Day
01 January 1970On World Cancer Day, the Mar Sleeva Cancer Care and Research Centre at Mar Sleeva Medicity Palai organised Walkathon 2026 in association with Mar Augusthinose College, Ramapuram. The event aimed to promote cancer awareness and prevention.
Nearly 700 people joined the walkathon and carried a strong message of early detection and cancer prevention across the city. MG University Vice Chancellor Dr C T Aravindakumar flagged off the eight kilometre walk at Pala Municipal Stadium. The walk concluded at Mar Sleeva Medicity Palai.
Msgr Dr Joseph Kaniyodickal, Managing Director of Mar Sleeva Medicity Palai, presided over the programme.
The walkathon aligned with the global World Cancer Day theme United by Unique. The initiative highlighted that every cancer journey is different. It also reinforced the importance of awareness, collective action, and timely diagnosis in cancer care.
