What You'll Learn

The programme builds practical skills across the full sterile-processing cycle: decontamination and cleaning of surgical instruments, sterilisation methods including steam autoclaving, ETO and low-temperature plasma, correct packing and storage of sterile items, sterile stock and inventory control, and infection-control and biomedical-waste protocols. Students train inside a working central sterile supply department, so learning stays hands-on rather than theoretical.

Career Scope

Every hospital with an operation theatre needs a central sterile supply department, which keeps demand for trained CSSD technicians steady. Graduates work in CSSD units, operation theatres, and surgical wards across multispecialty hospitals, day-care surgery centres, and dental and eye hospitals. The role sits at the core of patient safety, since proper sterilisation directly prevents hospital-acquired infections.
