Paediatric Critical Care

The Department of Paediatric Critical Care Medicine at Mar Sleeva Medicity Palai provide complete intensive care services for paediatric patients from birth to adolescence. The intensive care units provide maximum supervision and support for patients who are at risk, or suffering from, acute life-threatening conditions. The unit is staffed by full-time paediatric intensivists working in cooperation with other physicians as well as specially trained nurses, respiratory therapists and paramedics.

The Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) is well equipped to care for children suffering from a broad range of critical medical disorders, Severe trauma and requiring major surgeries. The department also houses a high dependency unit (HDU) to provide care for patients who require close observation and monitoring. As part of our goal of continuous care, we provide coordination with all medical and surgical specialties. In addition to ventilatory support,  nutritional, psychosocial care and physical therapy are provided during prolonged hospitalization.
