The Department of Paediatrics at Mar Sleeva Medicity Palai is one of the most advanced paediatric care centres in Kottayam and Central Kerala, offering comprehensive medical services for newborns, children, and adolescents. Designed to function like a standalone children's hospital, the department brings together paediatric surgery, paediatric critical care, paediatric cardiology, adult congenital heart disease (ACHD) management, and a dedicated Child Development Centre with a full rehabilitation wing. The facility houses Level III Neonatal and Paediatric Intensive Care Units (NICU and PICU) equipped with high end life support systems including mechanical ventilation, high frequency ventilators, and inhaled nitric oxide therapy. State of the art imaging facilities, including neonatal MRI, enable early and accurate diagnosis of complex conditions without referral to another centre.

The department is led by a multidisciplinary team of experienced paediatricians, neonatologists, paediatric intensivists, and subspecialists supported by trained paediatric nurses, therapists, and technicians. The PICU provides specialised postoperative management, including care for children who have undergone organ transplants.
