As part of National Road Safety Week, Mar Sleeva Medicity Palai organised a road safety awareness programme in association with the NSS Unit of BVM College Cherpunkal and the Motor Vehicles Department. The programme focused on promoting safe and responsible road behaviour among students and the public.

The event began with a road safety walkathon. Motor Vehicle Inspector K K Regi officially flagged off the walkathon. Students, public authorities, and healthcare professionals actively took part in the event. Through their participation, they highlighted the importance of road safety and accident prevention.

After the walkathon, the organisers conducted several road safety awareness activities. These sessions explained traffic rules, safe driving practices, and pedestrian safety. As a result, participants gained a better understanding of how responsible behaviour can reduce road accidents.

In addition, the programme featured the launch of a first aid handbook titled “One Moment Can Save a Life.” Rev. Dr. Emmanuel Parekkattu, Director – Finance and Accounts & Materials, Mar Sleeva Medicity Palai, formally handed over the handbook. Motor Vehicle Inspector K K Regi released the handbook during the event. The publication aims to improve basic emergency response skills among the public.

Through initiatives like this, Mar Sleeva Medicity Palai continues to support community health, road safety awareness, and preventive healthcare across the region.
