International Nurses Day 2026 Celebrated at Mar Sleeva Medicity Palai
12 May 2026Mar Sleeva Medicity Palai observed International Nurses Day 2026 with a programme recognising the contribution of our nursing workforce to patient care across the hospital. The day is marked globally on 12 May to commemorate the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing.
This year’s celebration carried the International Council of Nurses theme, Our Nurses. Our Future. Empowered Nurses Save Lives, which calls on healthcare systems worldwide to invest in safe working conditions, fair compensation, and full scope of practice for nurses.
At Mar Sleeva Medicity Palai, the observance was an occasion to acknowledge the role nurses play in clinical safety, patient experience, and the continuity of care across every department, from emergency and critical care to maternity, oncology, surgical wards, and post-operative recovery. Their work bridges the medical expertise of our doctors and the lived experience of the patients and families we serve.
The leadership and medical fraternity of Mar Sleeva Medicity Palai extend gratitude to every nurse for their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to compassionate care.
